Drag Racing Funny Car

From MoparWiki
Jump to: navigation, search

The term Funny Car, as it related to Drag Racing, generally is a type of race car that has the body somewhat resemble a production car -- but has been severely modified for aerodynamics. This body is typically fiberglass and covers a tube chassis having the driver sitting in the center -- rather to the left side. These cars evolved from the FX cars of the mid 60s, when Super Stock cars started appearing at races with altered wheelbases. It is believed that the term was first coined when Dick Landy brought an Altered 65 Coronet to a NHRA event, and then told that they were not going to let that "Funny Car run.

Because of recent spam attacks on Mediawiki sites by the tens of thousands of spammers concerned with the length, girth and hardness of our Johnsons, we have had to temporarily disable new registrations and editing until measures can be taken to ensure there is no further vandalism of this site. We apologize for the assholes out there that don't have better things to do, and will find a work around soon. Meanwhile, there are still thousands of MoparWiki pages containing a wealth of information.
